Emira Galeteanu is a licensed architect who has played key roles on several award-winning cultural, institutional and educational projects. Before joining LGA Architectural Partners, she worked for nine years with G. Bruce Stratton Architects on projects including the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) Design Excellence Award-winning Mount Dennis Public Library and the ARIDO Award-winning office of Bloor West Dental Group.

She has also been the Project Architect on several Toronto Catholic District School Board and Waterloo Regional District School Board child-care additions and primary schools projects. Emira believes that the environments in which children learn and play have a huge impact on their overall mental and physical well-being. Through her work, she tries to harvest the power of space, light, colour, materiality, and program to better students’ learning experience, interaction with others, and personal growth.

She is an active participant in the maker movement and believes that design thinking should touch every part of our daily lives. When she is not designing buildings, Emira is often designing and making furniture, lighting fixtures, ceramics, and art objects. She has also written and illustrated three children’s books.
