Michelle, who joined LGA in 2019, brings with her over a decade of design experience and expertise in adaptive reuse and complex renovations. She has acquired experience in areas ranging from cultural, retail, institutional, education, hospitality and commercial interiors to heritage and custom residential design. She has also worked on high security environments such as banks, courthouses, casinos, and police facilities.

Michelle earned her Master’s degree from the University of Waterloo in 2010, where she received commendation for her thesis on the arts as a catalyst for gentrification and the self-destruction of successful neighbourhoods. She has studied in Montreal and Rome and has been an invited guest critic at the University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, and OCAD University.

Currently she is working on a revitalization project in Bolton, Ontario, which will transform a former kids’ camp building and pool into a hub for children and youth with a focus on inclusivity. She believes that an end-user’s experience of a space should always inform the design process and strives to create architecture that is both functional and delightful.
