LGA’s Communications Manager, Pamela Young, began her career as a journalist at Maclean’s and went on to write about design and the built environment at publications including The Globe and Mail, Azure, and Applied Arts. During her time as editor of CFM&D (Canadian Facility Management & Design), she took on a small freelance assignment to write some Request for Proposal text for an architecture firm and ended up changing jobs. Collaborating with architects to explain the ‘hows and whys’ of their work to all sorts of audiences makes her happy. She has enjoyed doing this with LGA since 2015, on projects including the successful proposal to renovate Toronto Public Library’s Albert Campbell branch and a Canadian Green Building Award-winning submission for Eva’s Phoenix, a transitional residence and skills training centre for youth.
